Formed in Thessaloniki in 2012, Naxatras is a unique band that blends psychedelia with progressive rock, funk, jazz, and Eastern melodies. They made a powerful entrance into the music world by recording their debut album entirely with analog equipment, live in just one day. This self-titled 2015 release secured them a special place on the European scene.
With the release of II in 2016, followed by an EP and singles, Naxatras continued to evolve their sound. In 2018, their third album III offered listeners an even more refined take on psychedelia. The live album, recorded at their sold-out show at Gagarin 205, allowed us to experience their stage energy without being there in person. Later, with the addition of Pantelis Kargas on keyboards, IV expanded both the band’s universe and our perspective of their music.
Now, with their new album V, they are once again reuniting with their audience in Turkey. The album is an album where oriental, stoner and space influences are perfectly blended. The band has played in many European cities and festivals like Desertfest, Ozora, and Dunajam, where they truly belong! The record clearly shows why, after so many years, the band is returning to Istanbul —maybe they just miss the baklava! We can’t wait for the concert!
