A Night of Guaranteed Strangeness with Geordie Greep

Remember when we saw Black Midi perform with Shame in Istanbul back in 2022? Now, it’s time for the one and only Geordie Greep to take the stage! Catch him on Wednesday, March 19, at Blind.

Greep’s musical journey began at the age of 11, playing gospel music in churches—despite having no religious background. He even took his father’s advice seriously when he said, “Spaghetti Western music sounds better on a baritone guitar,” and he’s been playing that way ever since.

The result? A one-of-a-kind, heavily improvised night. What he’ll bring to the stage, how he’ll play, or where the night will lead—it’s all a mystery. But one thing is certain: it will be fascinating.

One of the things we love most about Greep is his approach to originality. Rather than striving for it consciously, his uniqueness emerges from trying to imitate something unattainable.

“Greep believes that originality often comes from attempting to replicate something beyond reach. ‘When you know you can’t fully do something, you try to copy or mimic it. But you never quite succeed—and in that process, you unintentionally create something original,’ he explains.”
