2024 Gems All in One

On the last day of 2024, we want to share a playlist with you. This time, there’s no specific genre. From psychedelic rock to post-punk, indie folk to experimental electronic, this playlist has something for everyone.

Contemporary music is a dynamic blend of styles and genres, with artists pushing boundaries and experimenting with sound. Bands like The Murder Capital and Words Lost Meaning offer raw, emotional post-punk, while Dax Riggs and Alice Phoebe Lou explore haunting folk and indie rock.

In the world of psychedelic and experimental music, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and L’éclair create genre-bending soundscapes, while Los Bitchos bring playful, Latin-influenced grooves.

Not every song makes it to the top of the charts, but that doesn’t mean lesser-known tracks aren’t amazing. Koupes’ song “When We Feel The Pain” will deeply resonate with most listeners due to its emotional depth and simple melody.

Artists who have been on stage for years didn’t disappoint us in 2024 with their new albums. Nick Hempton and Cory Weeds blended the warm sounds of modern jazz with urban rhythms in “Soy Califa.”

The energy of emerging artists always stands out. One of the names that best represents this energy in 2024 is Marry Cherry.

The Japanese indie band GeGeGe offered depth both melodically and lyrically with their track, which we couldn’t read but believe translates to “A quiet revival,” making it one of our favorite songs of 2024.

Jazz and experimental fusion shine through with artists like GUM, Sven Wunder, and Offthewally, blending electronic and atmospheric elements.

Meanwhile, Fat White Family and Shotgun Sawyer embody the rebellious energy of punk rock. From Pixies’ gritty sound to Mellow Honey’s mellow vibes, these artists offer a diverse, ever-evolving musical landscape that speaks to a wide range of emotions and experiences.
