2024 Gems for Cosmic Wanderers

This playlist is, of course, powered by really-high gain amps, the biggest muffs, and echoes resonating into space from the Riff Tree. The 2024 harvest is packed with standout acts like Slomosa, Karkara, and Congulus, along with stoner gods and sludge monsters—an epic one-way ticket to a long, mind-expanding flight!

This year, we got lost in the looping riffs of bands like Karkara and Congulus, channeling the spirit of ancient times. Their entrancing rhythms took us on a journey through history, fusing untamed energy with timeless echoes.

Melvins didn’t leave their fans hanging either. They released their 27th studio album, Tarantula Heart, and we could truly feel the band pouring their essence into every note. From the first chord to the final scream, the album pulsated with power and purpose.

When Matt Pike picked up his bağlama, the storms expected at a Turkish wedding didn’t break out, but High on Fire’s ninth studio album, Cometh the Storm, proved to be a remedy for stoner/sludge fans. Its crushing riffs and Pike’s unmistakable intensity pushed the band to fresh territories.

It was the year when unpredictable melodies intertwined with loops, creating a fusion of chaos and clarity that will be remembered. Looking back, we remember how Slomosa and Tundra Rock rose from the Baltic Sea, sending icy winds and thundering riffs worldwide. Tundra Rock isn’t just an album—it’s a genre-defining experience, a journey through untamed sound that will stick with us for years.

This is 2024: bold, intense, and unforgettable. The storm is just beginning, and the echoes will last!
